Great sandwiches, food, ambience. Unusual. Excellent. They're packing em in for breakfast and lunch at a cursed location.

Fresh ingredients and tasty sandwiches. Space is very cute but does get packed/loud during the lunch rush hour. Notorious PIG sandwich came with two THIIIICK slabs of pork belly. Pork belly was cooked really well with some crunchy edges. Sandwich was a bit tough to eat and lettuce was quite soggy but still hits the spot if you are hungry for protein. Fried egg sandwich was delicious and a great balance with the pesto. Apple salad had all the right stuff but was honestly hard to eat with the large cubes of apples and cheese. I think if they changed up the way they sliced things in the salad it would be much more enjoyable to eat. Overall, great lunch spot and would come again.

Too good to even pause for a picture... guess that just means I've gotta go back, right?! We swung by here before heading out to paddleboard, and MAN, that carb load had us ready for a nap under the sun! Quick service, chill vibes, and a total Seattle summer feel, where everyone's just happy to soak up some rays. The food? Incredible. I went for the pork belly sandwich, but with so many options, I'm coming back to try them all!

My tiktok fyp has been telling me that Layers is the sandwich shop to try near Green Lake. Since I was in the area, I figured now was the time. I came on a Sunday afternoon around 3pm. It wasn't busy given the time. The Captain Rick was sold out for the day. On a whim, I decided to try the Notorious Pig. The main difference from the description is that it was served on their pullman bread instead of a toasted brioche. I completely missed that detail in the description before writing this review. I don't think it made a particularly big difference. It was a solid sandwich. The pork is really nicely crispy. Since it's a cut of pork belly, some bites are very fatty. It's a good lunch option because it wasn't overwhelmingly heavy. I will caveat that I did have to walk half of Green Lake back to my car so your experience on that might be different if you park closer.

So excited to stop by layers brick and mortar after visiting their food truck often! As usual, I got the captain rick. The best tuna sando you'll ever have. We also tried the potatoes, which I don't think I'd get again. I wasn't crazy about the aioli, and just weren't scratching the itch I had for a side. The Sandos however were excellent as usual! In true sandwich shop fashion, you buy your meal and then grab a seat, so on hot summery days they may be hard to come by! Excellent wine and beer selection, and usually have a few featured items and spritz!

I had the egg and cheese sandwich for the third time today and I realized- every time I've eaten it I think "this is the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had." Spuds with green goddess sauce make it a meal. Also, the cake slices they had today (white cake with mascarpone and stone fruit filling) was some of the best cake I've ever had. Employees are friendly and service is pretty quick despite how packed it always is.

Layers had been on my list for a while and I finally got the chance to try it. We came on a Friday around noon and the place was busy! We stood in line for about 10 minutes, but It gave us time to look through the menu and decide. They have outdoor and indoor tables so you can bring your dog and eat outside. I ordered the Notorious P.I.G. sandwich and my friend ordered the Captain Rick. The pork belly sandwich was delicious! So much flavor on the pork belly and not too fatty! Thankfully they cut the sandwich in half. Honestly, it would have been hard to take a bite if they didn't. We wanted to order the TBR (smoked turkey, bacon marinated tomatoes) but they ran out of it. She opted for the Captain Rick; the tuna sandwich included dill and potato chips! The dill added a lot of flavor to the tuna and the crunch of the chips added extra texture! Yum!
